I choose the concert of “Calle 13” without any doubt, because in all that time was my favorite band and shared the music with my friends. I remember all about that day. We arrived at 8 o´clock and we were at it till 17 o’clock, waiting to enter the “Santa Laura” stadium. It was my first concert and it was a memorable day. I laughed a lot with my friends, met many people waiting  for the concert. This was a Friday and we didn´t go to class and my mother didn´t know until I told the next day of the concert and she didn´t get mad with me. When the doors of the stadium were opened, we ran towards the scenario and stayed in first row. We were very happy. First was “Chico Trujillo” and it was very fun, we danced too much, although it was very crowded and people could hardly move, because of this a friend had to go to emergency area and we split until Manuel García started to play, a more relaxed artist. I would like to visit Italy and Spain, because these two countries I have always liked for the culture and ancient art, I would love to learn about the ancient world although I have never traveled, I think traveling would help me to learn more about the ancient culture. I would like to know the people and their traditions beside I would love to visit traditional places for example the Coliseum Romano, San Marcos cathedral, for the infrastructure, in Italy and Barrio Gothic for the ancient art and Teidic a volcano and observatory in Spain, I would like to study in Spain, because my mother tongue is Spanish and I wouldn´t be too lost in the city and in the university. In general I would like to travel for all ancient world, although these countries colonized America and stole many rich and for this grew faster and developed, I think I if I travel I can learn and share culture, ideas and art. The excellence of a country is graded on the quality of their public education. The excellence grading in present day Chile is subpar at most. It is common knowledge that Chile, in the eyes of the world, is seen as an underdeveloped country. In light of the presidential elections that are right around the corner, each candidate has based their campaign on how they can play their part in making Chile a member of the developed country elite. This dream to many, is seen as far-fetched and hardly realistic. How is it that Chile can turn around its economic decline and lower its population of poverty- ridden citizens in four years or less? The answer is, it’s not possible… in four years or less. Obviously such drastic changes take action in a rippling effect; it takes some time before the water by the edge of the pond reacts to the stone thrown in. Writing blogs for my English class this past year has been a great new experience for me. Although I must say that writing in english has always challenged me; these blogs have helped me to grow by expanding my english vocabulary and teaching me how to express myself more clearly in english. Being able to write about my opinions and share my knowledge on a subject, is quite an empowering feeling. In all honesty, these blogs have pushed me to realize my voice. By the end of blog project it became as though I looked forward to each assignment as they were given. Not only that, but reading the blog posts of my fellow peers has gotten me to see them in a different light and to have an appreciation for what they have to say. Caroline Carvajal

My favorite subject of this year was the unit on the Social History of Chile. Though I must admit that the choice on picking my favorite subject did not come lightly for it is that I have acquired quite a fondness for the career as a whole. In my opinion, this study of the Chilean Social History not only tackles important issues, but it also proves that the present moment is not just the here in now, but that the present is helped shaped by the decisions and events of the past. This is something that the modern-day social worker should keep in mind so that they can be part in creating a future with more social equality so that we can be able to generate opportunities in which we can start to identify ourselves as free individuals. Daniel Fauré, my professor on the subject, is someone who helped spark my interest on this topic. His skill and passion for teaching is something that all of his alumni greatly appreciate. She is my first niece and her name is Julieta. Furthermore, she is two years old and she is my brother’s daughter. Although I do not see her too much, I am always asking about her and what is she doing because I really care about her. I took that picture when it was my sister´s birthday and we were celebrating it in my house. In the picture she is holding a blue teddy bear and she has it since she was born and she can´t be without it. Also she still uses her pacifier because it helps her to calm down. Other than that, her personality is really special because, in one hand, she has an imaginary friend and she calls him “cheche” with whom she talks all the time. In the other hand she has a speech desorder but still she is really intelligent. To close this idea, she is really important to me and I love her. Caroline Carvajal
